The phone looks to have an edge to edge display, with Andy showing off just a corner. We are expecting many more tease before it’s mid-2017 release and hope the specs can match those of Samsung and OnePlus.

The device will be Andy’s flagship phone under his company, Essential. Essential target the smartphone and tablet market and will be looking to get their name out there with this product.

Samsung has official guidelines that will help those looking to buy the Note 7 recognise the new Note 7’s from those with explosive batteries. Samsung now have a green battery icon as well  a black square symbol on the label that holds the phones info such as the IMIE number that is on the side/back of the box. Note-7-box-black-sticker.jpg

More than 70 Samsung Galaxy Note 7 batteries have overheated in the US

Samsung have recalled ALL Galaxy Note 7 devices, around the world, due to major battery issues. More than 70 phones have over heated due to the issue, and this is in the US alone.

The phone launched last month after huge hype. Samsung’s note series has a reputation of being one of the best phones on the market. This is a blow for Samsung, one i am sure they would like to forget.

Samsung unveil the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and the Note 5

Edge 6 Plus and Note 5 specs

  • Screen Size: 5.7 inches
  • Resolution: 1440 x 2560 (518ppi)
  • Processor: Exynos 7420 (2.1GHz quad-core + 1.5GHz quad-core)
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Storage: 32/64GB
  • Front Camera: 5MP
  • Rear Camera: 16MP

S6 Edge Plus

Both the Edge plus and the Note 5 have identical hardware. The in’t too much difference between the S6 Edge and the new Plus size. yes its bigger. But the Edge has got a bit more smarter. You are now able to use the curve to quick launch apps from whatever screen you are from. It has jumped from a 5.1 inch to a 5.7 inch display. Hardware wise, it has 4Gb RAM which improves the 3GB in the smaller Edge. It packs a much larger battery from 2550mAh to 3000mAh and runs Android 5.1. Apart from that its all the same.

Note 5

The Note 5 has had a design upgrade from the Note 4 with a glass back and aluminium edges. No plastic in the latest range of Samsung’s phones and the S Pen is incredibly useful with more features.

The Note 5 has had a big processor boost from the Snapdragon 805 to the Exynos 7420, and an extra 1GB of RAM from 3GB to 4GB. The Note 5 has lost the expandable storage option that was found on the Note 4. The battery has dropped from 3200mAh to 3000mAh. But with the more efficient processor I wouldnt expect that to make too much of a difference. The S6 and S6 Edge also had a battery drop from their predecessors when they were released.

Wireless charging is included and is claimed to be 27% faster than what is on the S6 and S6 edge.

Samsung Galaxy A8

Samasung has launched its slimmest phone yet in the A8. The phone has been launched in china and packs a 8-core Snapdragon 615 processor (quad-core 1.7GHz and a quad-core 1GHz), and 2GB of RAM.

Although this isn’t near the standards of the flagship S6 and S6 Edge the A8 is a good mid-ranged phone and is just as gorgeous with its all metal body. It has a 5.7 inch OLED 1080p screen, and with it’s large 3050mAh battery, it will help the phone last longer than the flagship S6 and its Super AMOLED QuadHD display. The A8 has a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP wide-angle front camera.

This is Samsung’s thinnest phone yet at a tiny 5.9mm and weighs a small 151 grams and it’s a phone I am very excited to see.
